Eric Benting, Operator of Chick-fil-A Sunset Hills hosted a session for the CICEO & @sangamonvalleyceo students a few weeks ago. He shared his inspiring career path and journey to becoming an Operator of Chick-Fil-A. Eric imparted so much wisdom on the definition of VALUE, COGS, direct & indirect expenses, how to evaluate sales and what to adjust to increase sales. He also shared an image of a triangle; one side represents $ (sustainability), another is what you are good at & your natural gifts, the 3rd side is passion. It is important to look at all three of these as you choose your career path and make sure your triangle is balanced. For example you may be good at a sport & love it, but the reality is you probably wont go pro so its not financially sustainable, OR you have a job where you make lots of $ and you are good at it, but you hate your job & have zero passion for it. In order to be truly successful you need to find a balanced triangle. This was such an incredible life lesson for the students and one they can apply now and years to come.

Thank you Eric for your willingness to travel back to your roots to speak to the future leaders of our community. We appreciate your passion to pour into the CEO students and truly enjoy our session each year!
