One of the main pillars of the CEO program is to help the students see the vast career opportunities right here in Central Illinois.
Today we had the privilege of touring the Bayer facility in Farmer City in the midst of harvest. We met multiple staff members who shared their career journeys with the students. While most of the individuals we met had a background in Agriculture, we learned that Bayer is a global company that has positions in many Ag related areas as well as project management, Human Resources, sales & marketing, on site nurses and finance. Additionally many of the professionals we met shared the value of internships as they had internships at Bayer during their college experience and after graduation those connections led them to job opportunities after they graduated.
The students learned so much about the work Bayer does locally as well as the impact they are making around the globe. Manufacturing, systems, processes, quality control, logistics and research are just a few takeaways in which we learned throughout the tour.
