Recently, the Central Illinois CEO class had a great session learning from Eric Benting, Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Sunset Hills!
Eric shared his career journey, filled with unexpected turns, and how each experience prepared him for the next opportunity. He encouraged us to “do things that are uncomfortable—it will make you better!” and shared this great reminder: “There’s pain in the breaking, and there’s also pain in the breakthrough.”
Eric also discussed the difference between success and excellence — reminding us that success is temporary, but excellence is doing your best while pursuing a moving target.
We dove into valuable business lessons, including the value formula, how pricing and transactions impact a scorecard, and terms like equity, fixed and variable costs, and COGS.
We’re so thankful for Eric’s time, wisdom, and encouragement. We walked away inspired and ready to apply what we learned as we begin our group business venture!
Thank you, Eric Benting — and we’ll be sure to stop by Chick-fil-A Sunset Hills
next time we’re in the area! 🐔
